The Challenge

ARC was one of the founding clients of 6i-Infotech (then Jeevan Technologies) — engaged in 2010 to replace a system that had been in use since 1999. The old system was a standalone VB application with Oracle backend, running in offline mode across 284 agencies. Data was synced from individual local databases to the main server via a synchronisation tool — a fragile, error-prone architecture that had accumulated years of data inconsistencies.

The Complexity: Transhipment Yard Operations

  • Unloading sheets with labour assignment (4-person unloading teams)
  • Consignment verification against waybills on arrival
  • Complaint registration for shortage or damaged goods at loading
  • TLUS (Trip Loading/Unloading Sheets) as sole authority for vehicle movement
  • Lorry Hiring Agreements (LHA) for contracted vehicles
  • Separate wage tracking for permanent staff vs. contractual load-men
